An engineering professor of the Edo State University, Uzairue (EDSU), Engr. Prof. Kevin Shegun Otoikhian has urged automobile manufacturers to embrace biodiesel.

Engr. Prof. Kevin Shegun Otoikhian while delivering his lecture titled; ‘’Green Diesel for a Green Future’’ during the 14th Inaugural Lecture series of the Edo State University Uzairue, tasked “indigenous automobile manufacturers and first-time investors, including NORD Automobile Limited, INNOSON Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), Lanure Shittu Motors (LSM), Dana Motors, PROFORCE Motors, and JAC Motors (Elizade), as well as established assembly plants, "STAND ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS" such as Indonesia, Brazil, and the USA, whose economies have incorporated biodiesel technology".

"This initiative would re-establish Nigeria in its prominence as the "Giants of Africa’’.

While explaining the importance of the growth of Biodiesel technology globally, the Professor of Chemical Engineering strongly advised that Nigeria Government also key into this gold mine as it will help improve the productivity level of other sectors, and as well expand quality engineering and scientific research in the Country.
