Emir of Gashaka Pays Courtesy Visit to the Vice-Chancellor of TSUJ; Commends the University's Progress

His Royal Highness, Emir Gashaka, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr. Zubairu Hamangabdo, paid a courtesy visit to Professor Sunday Paul Bako, the Vice-Chancellor of Taraba State University Jalingo (TSUJ).

During his visit, the Emir praised the significant contributions made by Prof. Bako in the University's development and stability, acknowledging the commendable transformation achieved within less than two years in office.

Speaking during the visit, the Emir said Prof. Sunday Paul Bako's contributions to the development and  stability in the University in less than two years in office has been so remarkable and deserve commendation. He cited the renovation of many abandoned facilities, reviving of major segments like the Clinic, ICT, CBT and regularization of the appointments of security staff among others have set the University on the right direction.

The monarch also express his delight over the establishment of TSU FM, Table Water, Bread, Mushroom Farm, Treat and Grills among others as means of revenue generation and described the initiative as innovative and timely considering the economic and financial crisis the University has faced in the past adding, it's only genuine and creative leaders that find lasting solutions to persistent problems. 

He charged the VC and his Management team to remain resolute and focus on their mission and trust for a better learning environment in the only State owned University and thank them for their sacrifices as he encouraged them not to be deterred by those who are bent on negative criticisms. Assuring his royal blessings and support at all times.

Receiving the royal father at his office, Prof. Bako appreciated the Lamdo Gashaka for finding it necessary and worthy to register his presence which he described as first of it kind since assumption of office.

The VC disclosed that, some of the efforts put in place to strengthen the University's relationship with communities around when assumed office, was the establishment of a 'Community Liaison Office' through which the University can be closer to its host community adding that, with encouragements like this, them, at the Management level would feel the need to do more for the University and the State at large. He further said, the success stories told were possible because the Governor of the State Dr. Agbu Kefas has great passion for education with special attention in TSUJ, and since the Governor came onboard, he has been so supportive to Institution, saying "if not for his intervention, my staff would have been on strike because we almost arrived at such point but immediately he directed the immediate release of three salaries, things started going smoothly", and the VC added that, the Governor even deserves more of the commendation.

Some of the dignitaries who received the Emir in the company of the VC included: Mr. Joseph U. Bibinu The Registrar,  Dr. Abraham A. Bagu Bursar TSU, the University Librarian Dr. Israel Habibu and the Chief Security Officer Col. A.N Adamu Retired.
