The Federal Government has unveiled a significant plan to enhance educational quality by recruiting 3,500 new teaching staff for Federal Unity Colleges across the nation. The announcement was made by Dr. Yusuf Sununu, the Minister of State for Education, during the National Stakeholders’ Forum on Senior Secondary Education in Nigeria.

Dr. Sununu emphasized the government's commitment to improving the education sector, stating, “I assure you that the Ministry is collaborating with the Office of the Head of Service, the Federal Civil Service Commission, and other relevant government bodies to facilitate the recruitment of 3,500 teaching staff for our federal government colleges nationwide.”

In addition to the recruitment drive, Dr. Sununu highlighted several other initiatives aimed at advancing educational standards and vocational training. The government has recently trained over 1,000 workers and constructed 53 vocational centers to address the skills demands of youth. Furthermore, the establishment of 50 new model schools across the country has been approved to bolster educational infrastructure.
