Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Rector, Dr Okolobah’s Vision Fuels Students’ Week

The Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, is buzzing with excitement as it prepares for its vibrant Students’ Week, a celebration of student unity and culture, driven by the pragmatic leadership of Rector Dr. Victor Okolobah.

Known for his results-oriented approach, Dr. Okolobah is addressing student concerns with adaptability and strategic decisions, positioning the polytechnic for a bright future.

Recently, the Students Union Government (SUG), led by President Comrade Solomon Abbah, met with Dr. Okolobah to share the week’s schedule. The seven-day program includes:

Day 1: Rally– A lively kickoff to unite the student body.

Day 2: Old School Day– A nostalgic tribute to retro fashion and themes.

Day 3: Jean/Sports/Bole Festival– A fun mix of casual wear, sports, and local cuisine.

Day 4: Rag Day– A creative event promoting charity and student expression.

Day 5: Cultural Day– A celebration of Nigeria’s diverse heritage through music, dance, and attire.

Day 6: Dinner/Award Night– An evening to honor outstanding students and staff.

Day 7: Thanksgiving– A reflective close to express gratitude for community progress.

Dr. Okolobah commended the SUG’s initiative and pledged to attend all events, showcasing his hands-on leadership. He personally donated N150,000 to support the week’s activities and committed to securing an additional N200,000 from the polytechnic’s management. According to Anthony Ogbe (SAR)(MCAI), Public Relations Officer for the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, “Dr. Okolobah’s pragmatic leadership is transforming our institution, ensuring both academic excellence and student welfare.”
