Federal polytechnic Offa, Insurance Department Organizes Farewell Programme for Three Retired Staff
Amidst funfair and exchange of pleasantries, Insurance Department, the Federal Polytechnic Offa recently celebrated three of its academic staff members for their contributions and commitment to the development of the Polytechnic and the department during their service years.
The three retirees are: Former Deputy Rector Administrations, Pastor Peter Akinjobi; Pioneer Head of Insurance Department, Mr. Olotu G; and Mrs. Adegbemi Frances Oluwayemisi.
The Rector, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin, FNSE, conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the celebrants for their selfless services to the Polytechnic and contributions to the body of Knowledge. He described them as experienced, selfless and hardworking colleagues who have made history in the Institution. He wished them a happy and healthy retirement life.
While speaking, Dean, School of Management Studies, Mr. Adebayo Yekeen Sulaiman appreciated Insurance Department for coming up with a befitting farewell programme for the retired staff. He noted that the retirees deserve the accolades after all the hard work they have done and appreciated them for leaving the department better than they met it.
Head of Insurance Department, Mr. Tajudeen Salaudeen, emphasized the invaluable contributions the retired staff made during their time at the Polytechnic and department.
Highlighting the retirees professional achievements, Mr. Salaudeen underscored the importance of the ceremony as an appreciation for their contributions and loyalty to the Department.
According to him, "As we bid farewell to these legends, we do so with hearts filled with gratitude and admiration. Your legacy lives in the minds and hearts of every student you have touched. In the success stories of our Alumni and in the enduring spirit of academic excellence that defines our department, the Insurance Industry awaits you with open arms, eager to benefit from your wisdom and experience."
Also speaking at the ceremony, Dr. S. A Raji, who was a former Head of Insurance Department thanked the retirees for honouring the invitation and for contributing immensely to the development of the institution. He enjoined the current staff to emulate the good works of the retirees and aspire to do better. He commended the Polytechnic leadership for their unwavering support and commitment to the welfare of the retired staff.
In their separate responses, Mrs. Adegbemi, and Pastor Akinjobi expressed gratitude to the Insurance Department and the Polytechnic community for the opportunity to serve and contribute their quota to the development of the institution. They also appreciate their families and friends for their support over the years.
In his vote of thanks, the Exam Officer (II) who doubles as the Chairman Organising Committee, Mr. Aina John, thanked the staff and honourees for gracing the occasion. He wished everyone journey mercies back to their various destinations.
The event also featured presentations of befitting gift items and cash rewards as a token to further appreciate the retirees.
At the event were: Principal Officers, Deans, Directors, Head of Departments, Head of Units, Staff, Fedpoffa Insurance Alumni, well-wishers among others.
