Federal Polytechnic Oko bade farewell to Dr. Chibike Onyije Nwuba, the late Head of the Department of Marketing, in a solemn valedictory session.

The Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, received Dr. Nwuba’s body at the Polytechnic alongside members of the Management Committee. Representatives of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), led by branch chairman Dr. Fidelis Oduah, were also in attendance to pay their respects. The event was marked by a reflective and pensive atmosphere as colleagues and friends shared tributes honoring the late academic.

  • Rector Dr. Awuzie described Dr. Nwuba as gentle, peaceful, humble, and diligent, noting that his loss was both tragic and deeply felt across the Polytechnic.
  • Dean, School of Business Studies, Dr. Chioma Eni, praised Dr. Nwuba for his instrumental role in securing NBTE accreditation for the Marketing Department, highlighting his humility, openness to advice, and efforts to foster unity among staff.
  • Ag. Head of Marketing, Dr. Igwenazo, and ASUP Chairman, Dr. Fidelis Oduah, described him as an exceptional individual with outstanding interpersonal relationships.

Following the valedictory, the remains of Dr. Nwuba were transported to his hometown in Ekwulobia for funeral rites and interment, concluding the Polytechnic’s tribute to a respected colleague and dedicated academic.
