Federal University Dutse Wins N113 Million Google Grant for AI Research
Federal University Dutse (FUD) has secured a $75,000 (over N113 million) Google Explore CSR 2024 grant through Aminu Musa, a lecturer in the Department of Cyber Security. The grant will be used to establish an AI Research Laboratory under the Computing Research Acceleration Initiative (CRAI) AI Lab.
Federal University Dutse (FUD) has achieved a significant milestone as Aminu Musa, a lecturer in the Department of Cyber Security, Faculty of Computing, secured a prestigious Google Explore CSR 2024 grant worth $75,000 (over N113 million). The grant will be utilized to establish an advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Laboratory at the university.
The project, implemented through the Computing Research Acceleration Initiative (CRAI) AI Lab, aims to enhance AI research and innovation at FUD. Led by Malam Aminu Musa, a PhD researcher, the initiative seeks to bridge the gap between academia and industry by equipping students and researchers with cutting-edge AI skills while developing innovative global solutions.
With a focus on interdisciplinary research, strategic partnerships, and hands-on learning, the AI lab is set to position FUD as a leading center for AI excellence in Nigeria.
