The University Health Services Department of the Federal University of Kashere (FUK) has issued a warning to the university community regarding a cholera outbreak in Kashere town.

According to a memo dated December 20, 2024, the outbreak has been present in the town for the past two weeks, and the university is taking proactive measures to prevent the spread of the disease.

The memo, signed by Dr. M.D. Yusuf, Director of Health Services, urges members of the community to maintain strict hygiene to prevent contracting the disease. It advises anyone experiencing symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting to promptly report to the University Clinic.

The university has put emergency response mechanisms in place to support affected individuals. Students and staff are encouraged to follow periodic health updates via FUK Radio and the university's WhatsApp forums to stay informed and guided.
