Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN) successfully organized a public lecture titled "World University Ranking Bodies: How Do They Work and How Do You Get Ranked?" on Friday, December 20, 2024.
The event brought together staff, students, and representatives from sister universities to discuss critical insights into the global university ranking system. The lecture aimed to provide a deeper understanding of the ranking criteria and parameters used by global ranking bodies.
In his welcome address, KHAIRUN's Registrar, Malam Yusuf Datti, emphasized the significance of the seminar's topic, urging attendees to actively engage and ask questions for better understanding.
The Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Ibrahim T. Siraj, highlighted the competitive nature of global university rankings and their impact on how universities are perceived. He stressed the need for universities to prepare adequately by meeting ranking criteria, thereby enhancing their recognition both nationally and internationally.
The presenter, Dr. Muhammad Auwal Ibrahim, delivered an insightful presentation on the prerequisites for achieving global ranking and recognition. He provided practical guidance for universities aspiring to improve their standings.
