Federal University of Kashere Students Rally Against Social Vices

The Students' Representative Council (SRC) of the Federal University of Kashere (FUK) organized a rally against social vices on Monday, February 3, 2025.

The event aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse, sexual harassment, and other negative behaviors affecting students.

 

The rally, which drew widespread participation from students, featured placards with messages condemning social vices. The SRC leadership and participating students also paid a visit to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Umaru A. Pate, who emphasized the importance of self-discipline and responsibility.

Prof. Pate urged students to remain focused on their academic goals, reminding them that their primary purpose at the university is to acquire knowledge and develop skills that will shape their future. He warned that universities and employers often request background reports on students, which can impact their future opportunities.

 

The Vice Chancellor encouraged students to utilize the university's resources positively, such as the FUK radio station, to engage in intellectual discussions and societal analysis. He stressed that both aptitude and attitude are essential for success in life.

SRC President Comr. Sahabo Abdulkadir reaffirmed the council's commitment to addressing student concerns and promoting positive values. He announced the upcoming SRC Gala Night, scheduled for Wednesday, February 5, 2025, and reminded students to prepare for their exams.

 

The rally was well-received by students, who appreciated the SRC's efforts to tackle social issues on campus. The event sent a clear message about the importance of discipline and responsible behavior on campus.
