FUGUS Appoints Hajiya Nafisa Barau Suleiman as Acting Registrar

The Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) has appointed Hajiya Nafisa Barau Suleiman as the new Acting Registrar, following approval by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Rt. Hon. Engr. Aminu Sani Isa.

According to the appointment letter, the newly appointed Acting Registrar takes over from Malam Yakubu Anivbassa, whose tenure as the second substantive Registrar of the university ended on Tuesday, 4th February 2025.

The appointment letter states, “You are therefore to take over the affairs of the Registry Department from the outgoing Registrar, Mal. Yakubu Anivbassa, whose tenure ends today, Tuesday, 4th February 2025.”

Before this appointment, the Acting Registrar served as the Deputy Registrar in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, where she was responsible for overseeing administrative operations. From 2018 to 2021, she also held the position of Faculty Officer for the Faculty of Humanities and Education, before the faculty was later split into two.

Additionally, the Acting Registrar is a representative of the University Convocation in the current Governing Council.
