FUL Vice-Chancellor Inspects Student Hostels, Promises Enhanced Living Standards

In a proactive move to strengthen student welfare and institutional excellence, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, conducted a thorough on-the-spot assessment of the male and female halls of residence at the Felele Campus.

The inspection forms part of the Vice-Chancellor’s deliberate strategy to obtain first-hand insights into the operational realities of campus accommodation, rather than relying solely on reports. During the walkthrough, he examined critical infrastructure and essential services, including sanitation facilities, kitchens, and water supply systems, evaluating functionality, maintenance standards, and overall living conditions.

Beyond infrastructure assessment, the Vice-Chancellor engaged directly with students, including Student Union President Comrade Joseph Adopisa Adomu, to solicit candid feedback on their daily experiences in the hostels. Students expressed satisfaction with the recently installed internet services, a key initiative launched on the Vice-Chancellor’s first day in office, which is now fully operational and has significantly improved both academic and social experiences within the halls.
