The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) and the Aliko Dangote Sugarcane Company Ltd. are strengthening their strategic partnership to advance research, innovation, and capacity building within the Nigerian sugar sub-sector.

Professor Abdullahi I. Jaji, Director of the Aliko Dangote Sugarcane Research Centre (ADSRC), which is domiciled at FULafia, visited the sugar company's site in Tunga, Awe Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, on December 15, 2025.

During his visit, Professor Jaji met with the company’s project manager, Dr. Chandrasekaran, and General Manager (Agriculture), Dr. Bulus Bahago. Discussions focused on areas of common interest and collective strategies to develop the sugar value chain.

Professor Jaji noted that enhanced cooperation between the two institutions holds significant potential to drive the research centre to greater heights and contribute to national development in the sugar industry.
