FULafia emerges second at Hackathon competition

The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has won the second position in the recently concluded Hackathon climate change awareness competition.

The competition was tagged: “3RD Information Technology, Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week.” 

The event which took place at the Baze University, Abuja.

The University was represented at the Hackathon competition by Raphael Eze and Mercy Amaefule Chimnonso from the Computer Science Department of FULafia.

Presenting the award to the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, in his office, the students expressed their gratitude to the vice-chancellor and their lecturers for supporting them to win the prize.

The students promised to continue to do the University proud in future competitions.

Receiving the award in his office, Abdul Rahman congratulated the students, saying that their victory was a result of hard work, creativity and commitment to the core values of the University, namely, Integrity, Innovation and Excellence.

While advising the students to work harder to clinch the first position in subsequent competitions, the vice-chancellor called on other students to work hard and win more awards for themselves and the University.

The students were presented a certificate of achievement by Dr. Rislan A. Kanya, the Deputy Chancellor, IT, Research and Innovation of the Baze University, Abuja, for winning the second position at the end of the competition.
