FULafia VC Prof Shehu Abdul Rahman Urges Alumni to Elevate University’s Reputation
FULafia Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, called on alumni to promote the institution's reputation during the university’s first alumni reunion, emphasizing the significance of alumni as ambassadors for their alma mater.
The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has urged alumni to actively work toward enhancing the reputation of their alma mater. This call came during the university's inaugural reunion and get-together for the FULafia Alumni Association, held at the MIS Multipurpose Hall on the Permanent Site Campus.
In his keynote presentation, titled "Alumni for Impact: Shaping the Future Together," Professor Abdul Rahman highlighted the role of alumni associations in fostering university development. He encouraged alumni to serve as good ambassadors, demonstrate commitment, and adopt a visionary mindset to build a bright future for the university.
Mr. Adoration Z. Dashit, Senior Deputy Director of Alumni Relations at the University of Jos, delivered a lecture on "Alumni as Catalysts for Change: Promoting Unity and Institutional Advancement," stressing the importance of alumni maintaining strong ties with their alma maters and becoming advocates for institutional growth.
Dr. Fatima Adis Adamude, Acting Director of Linkages and Advancement, praised the reunion for rekindling the bond between the alumni and FULafia. The event featured an alumni congress where key issues were discussed, alongside a closing address by Prof. Amos Ambo, Chairman of the Organising Committee.
Dignitaries at the event included Deputy Vice-Chancellors Prof. Aleruchi Chuku, Prof. Ali Shugaba, and Prof. Samaila Dakyes; Registrar Malam Nuradeen Abdu; Bursar Dr. Daniel Wilson; and University Librarian Prof. Abiodun Iyoro. The reunion marked a significant step in reinforcing alumni ties and fostering future progress for FULafia.
