FUNAAB and Chinese Partners Forge Agricultural Innovation Alliance to boost Soybean, Sorghum Cultivation

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has forged an alliance with esteemed Chinese institutions: Hubei University of Technology (HBUT), South China Agricultural University, Ogun Guangdong Free Trade Zone, and Hubei Dijing Seed Industry Co. Together, they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing soybean and sorghum cultivation, as well as promoting the New Resource Development (NRD) industry in Nigeria.

The Vice-Chancellor of FUNAAB, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, expressed confidence in the success of this partnership. He highlighted FUNAAB’s recent recognition as Africa’s leading Agricultural University and emphasized the mutual benefits for all parties involved. The MoU also strengthens agricultural cooperation between China and Nigeria, fostering seed research, technology exchange, and sustainable agribusiness.

In the step toward advancing agricultural research and technology, the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has expressed keen interest in collaborating with Chinese partners. Prior to the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering strong ties with international institutions.
