FUNAAB Commissions Upgraded Zoo Park Hall, Unveils New Signpost
The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta has commissioned an upgraded multipurpose hall and unveiled a new block wall signpost at its Zoo Park, marking a significant step in ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and visitor experience.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Babatunde Kehinde, at the event, former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Kola Adebayo, underscored the role of purposeful leadership in sustaining institutional growth. He noted that the Zoo Park, established over a decade ago, has continued to evolve through consistent development and strategic direction.
Adebayo, who donated the newly unveiled signpost, commended the Zoo Park’s management for ongoing improvements, including upgraded facilities, animal enclosures, and the museum. He added that the signpost would address long-standing access challenges by making the facility easier to locate for visitors.
The Vice-Chancellor described the transformation of the multipurpose hall as a major upgrade, noting that the facility has been repositioned to support a broader range of activities and events. He said the development is expected to enhance user experience, attract increased patronage, and boost internally generated revenue for the university.
He also encouraged staff and students to adopt a culture of innovation and shared responsibility, stressing that sustainable institutional progress depends on collective effort. Students were urged to leverage opportunities within the Zoo Park, particularly in wildlife management and environmental science.

Earlier, the Zoo Park Director, Olufemi Sam-Wobo, expressed appreciation to stakeholders for their support, noting that the project was completed despite operational challenges through collaboration and resilience. He said the initiative reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the facility and advancing its role within the university’s academic and research framework.
