The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) recently welcomed three distinguished professors from Japan, marking a pivotal move toward enhancing international collaborations. This visit, which included Prof. Juichi Inada and Associate Prof. Fu Hoi from Senshu University, along with Prof. Yuichi Sasaoka, Dean of the Graduate School of Global Governance at Meiji University, was their first trip to Nigeria, specifically Abeokuta.

During a courtesy visit to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, the visiting scholars expressed their admiration for FUNAAB’s stellar reputation as Africa’s Best University of Agriculture and its global ranking of seventh. Their enthusiasm for visiting was fueled by the University’s international recognition, positioning it as an ideal candidate for academic partnerships.

Prof. Kehinde welcomed the guests and emphasized FUNAAB's commitment to establishing collaborations with their esteemed institutions. He noted that the University aims to foster global relationships that enhance research, knowledge sharing, and capacity building across its diverse academic programs. "We are excited to have you here and look forward to forging partnerships that will benefit not only our University but the global academic community," he stated.

Following their meeting, the visitors toured key facilities, including the Nimbe Adedipe Library, the Postgraduate School, and the College of Agricultural Management and Rural Development (COLAMRUD). They expressed admiration for the infrastructure and academic environment at FUNAAB, with Prof. Sasaoka remarking, "The infrastructure here is impressive, and we are excited about the possibility of collaboration."
