FUNAAB Pro-Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor Honored at CIML Conference

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, HRM Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, along with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, were honored with the prestigious Fellowship of the CIML during the 2024 CIML Conference.

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, HRM Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, along with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, were honored with the prestigious Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Management and Leadership (CIML) during the 2024 CIML Conference held on September 18, 2024, at the Red Chamber of the University. The Pro-Chancellor was represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development, Prof. Kola Adebayo, while Prof. Kehinde was represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi.

The conference, themed "Navigating the Future: Strategic Leadership in the Era of Disruption," also recognized Prof. Kehinde as the Best Creative, People-Oriented, and Managerial Vice-Chancellor in Nigeria. In his acceptance speech, Prof. Kehinde expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating that it would motivate him and the university community to strive for excellence. He emphasized that the honor was not solely for him but for FUNAAB as a whole, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to its core values of hard work, transparency, and integrity.

The event featured Opening Remarks from the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Abdul-Rasaq Adesina Adenugba, who commended the CIML for its efforts in promoting education and recognizing deserving leaders. Keynote speaker, Mr. Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, Director of Current & Public Affairs at TVC, highlighted the importance of leadership in fostering strategic thinking and innovation amid global disruptions.

The conference gathered leaders from various sectors, concluding with a commitment to excellence in leadership and management. Highlights included the induction of new members, the unveiling of the CIML Magazine, and a guided tour of the university's facilities, showcasing its 3MW Solar Project and agricultural initiatives.

Notable attendees included Ag. Registrar Mrs. Oluwatoyin Dawodu, Chairman of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA-FUNAAB) Mr. Adewale Ojoye, and several esteemed members of the university community and the CIML.
