FUNAAB VC Emphasizes Critical Role of Quality Assurance in Preventing System Collapse

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, underscored the importance of quality assurance in maintaining organizational integrity and preventing premature failure. He made these remarks at a One-Day Workshop organized for members of FUNAAB's Quality Assurance Committee, emphasizing the university's commitment to upholding rigorous quality standards.
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, Prof. Kehinde highlighted the critical role of quality assurance in safeguarding operational systems from collapse. He commended the expertise of the workshop's Resource Persons and urged committee members to actively engage with the lectures provided.
In a lecture titled "Enhancing Internal Quality Control and Assurance System," Prof. Adesoji Olaniran from the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), emphasized the pivotal role of Quality Assurance Engineers in ensuring adherence to high-quality standards. He advocated for the empowerment of internal quality assurance personnel to elevate educational policies and produce graduates of exceptional quality.

Additionally, Prof. Olufemi Saibu, Director of Quality Assurance and SERVICOM at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), presented on "Quality Assurance Practices for Effective Service Delivery in Higher Institutions in Nigeria." He stressed the importance of institutional oversight in maintaining consistency and student satisfaction, urging the Quality Assurance Committee at FUNAAB to uphold impartiality in their duties.
In his welcome address, Prof. Segun Oladoye, FUNAAB's Director of Quality Control and Assurance, reaffirmed the university's dedication to quality assurance. He highlighted the committee's establishment earlier in the year by the Vice-Chancellor, pledging to maintain and exceed the standards expected by the university community.

The workshop provided a platform for participants to exchange insights and strategies on enhancing quality assurance practices within FUNAAB, ensuring continuous improvement in educational service delivery.
