NELFUND Sensitizes KASU Students on Interest-Free Education Loan Scheme

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) engaged students at Kaduna State University (KASU) in a sensitization program on Thursday, 14th November 2024, aimed at raising awareness about its interest-free loan scheme to support Nigerian students in funding their higher education.
Representing KASU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Strategy, Innovation, and Service Delivery, Prof. Helen Afang Andow, welcomed students and staff to the event. She urged students to actively engage with the program, highlighting its potential to alleviate financial challenges faced by many.
In his address, the Dean of the Student Affairs Division, Prof. Tukur Abdulkadir, acknowledged the financial struggles many students endure, particularly in meeting tuition fees. He encouraged students to make the most of the opportunity to better understand the initiative.
Comrade Lucky Emonofe, National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), expressed optimism, calling the program a game-changer for Nigerian education. “The era of dropping out due to financial difficulties is over,” he said.

To qualify, students need only their National Identification Number (NIN).
NELFund, a Federal Government initiative, aims to provide financial assistance to eligible Nigerian students in accredited tertiary institutions, helping reduce the financial burden of education and making higher learning more accessible to all.
