FUNAAB VC Pledges God-Fearing Leadership as 33rd Convocation Ceremonies Commence

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has reaffirmed his commitment to leading the University with the fear of God, inclusiveness, and a strong sense of collective responsibility.

Prof. Kehinde gave this assurance today, Friday, January 23, 2026, while addressing the University’s Muslim Community shortly after the Jumat Service held at the University Mosque to mark the commencement of activities for the 33rd Convocation Ceremony.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, his administration operates not only an open-door policy, but what he described as a “no-door policy,” emphasising accessibility, transparency, and fairness in leadership.

“I will not discriminate against anyone; we are all members of the kitchen cabinet,” he stated, adding that the prayers and support of the Muslim faithful have remained invaluable to the success of his administration. He stressed that prayers play a crucial role in sustaining peace, unity, and progress within the University Community.

Prof. Kehinde further assured the congregation of his administration’s steady commitment to promoting harmony and peaceful coexistence across the University, noting that the welfare of both staff and students remains top priority.

The Vice-Chancellor also called for sustained cooperation among all members of the University Community, urging staff members and students to collectively work to uphold FUNAAB’s leading position among universities in Nigeria.

Earlier, in his Welcome Address, the Naibul Amir of the FUNAAB Muslim Community, Prof. Adesina Agboola, commended the Vice-Chancellor for his leadership qualities, attributing the prevailing peace and stability on campus to his inclusive and people-centred style of administration.

The Jumat Service concluded with special prayers for the Vice-Chancellor, University Management, staff, students, and for the continued development, peace and progress of FUNAAB, including the suspension Dua by the University Imam, Prof. Idris Ayinde.

Highpoint was the presentation of the University’s financial support to the ongoing construction of the Mosque, including a personal donation from the Vice-Chancellor.

Meanwhile, activities for the 33rd Convocation Ceremony would continue with an Interdenominational Service scheduled to hold on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at the Chapel of Grace, FUNAAB, by 10:00 a.m.
