FUOYE’s New Governing Council Chairman Vows to Elevate University to Global Status

The newly appointed Chairman of the Governing Council for Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Mr. Olukayode Ojo, has expressed strong confidence in the university's potential to achieve global recognition. During a three-day working visit to inspect projects and familiarize himself with the Oye and Ikole Ekiti campuses, Ojo praised FUOYE for its impressive progress and described it as a burgeoning institution with significant potential.

Ojo commended the university's management for maintaining the federal government's vision and assured that the council would collaborate closely with Vice-Chancellor Professor Abayomi Fasina to elevate the institution further. Despite this optimism, Ojo noted concerns regarding the current infrastructure, which he believes falls short of meeting the needs of the growing student population.

“The facilities at FUOYE are currently below 50 percent of what is required to support the institution's expansion,” Ojo stated. He called for urgent government intervention and promised to advocate for the university's needs to federal authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
