The Microsoft Global Power Platform Bootcamp organized by Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors FUTA held at the Federal University of Technology Akure on the 7th and 8th of July 2023.

The event themed "Less Code, More Power" started with an address  by the Dean, School of Computing Professor Kayode  Alese and keynote speeches from Microsoft Senior Cloud Advocate: Mr. Olanrewaju Oyinbooke, and Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (MVP): Omolola Alfred, Oluwatobi Yusuf (FUTA Alumnus), and Abiodun Akinfemiwa, where they explained current global problems in the workspace and the need for individuals, especially students to skill up and be more productive.

During the panel session, participants were introduced to Microsoft Low-code apps like PowerBI for faster data insights and analytics, Power Automate to create automated business workflows, Power Apps for building quick and powerful low-code applications, Virtual agents to build chatbots, and several others.

On day 2, Microsoft Certified Trainers: Omolola Alfred, Abiodun Akinfemiwa and Oluwatobi Yusuf (a proud alumnus of FUTA) trained participants on the use of Microsoft PowerBI to generate insights and analytics from a covid-19 dataset and Microsoft Power App to build a library management software (frontend and backend) in few hours.

The FUTA Microsoft Ambassadors are thankful to the school management and Vice Chancellor: Professor Adenike Oladiji for their support, the school's computer resource center was made available for students to get this hands-on training.

It was an impactful event that helped prepare FUTA students for a new set of work skill. The future of no-code or less code with more power, helping organizations to build powerful applications with less cost and timE.
