FUTO Extends Deadline for 2024/2025 Post-UTME Screening

The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) has extended the registration deadline for the 2024/2025 Post-UTME screening exercise for both UTME and Direct Entry admissions to September 30, 2024. This extension comes following the approval of the Vice-Chancellor and provides an excellent opportunity for candidates aspiring to enroll in one of Nigeria's premier technical universities.

Eligibility and Requirements

To apply for the FUTO Post-UTME screening, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Must have chosen FUTO as their first choice institution in the 2024 UTME or Direct Entry (DE).
  • Must achieve a minimum score of 150 in the UTME. Candidates who did not initially select FUTO but scored 150 or more can change their first choice to FUTO via the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).

Specific Cut-Off Marks:

  • Minimum JAMB Score of 150 is required for most programs, including courses in the School of Agriculture & Agricultural Technology, School of Biological Sciences, and School of Environmental Sciences.
  • A minimum JAMB Score of 170 is needed for programs in the School of Information & Communication Technology and some health technology courses.
  • A higher minimum JAMB Score of 200 is necessary for candidates applying to the College of Medicine for the Medicine and Surgery program.

Application Fee and Process

The application fee for the FUTO Post-UTME screening is N2,000. Candidates should follow these steps to complete their application:

  1. Visit the FUTO website and navigate to “Prospective Students” and then “Undergraduate.”
  2. Generate an invoice by entering your JAMB Registration Number to obtain a Payment Invoice with the Remita Retrieval Reference Number (RRR).
  3. Pay the processing fee at any bank or via ATM card.
  4. Return to the FUTO Post-UTME/DE Application portal to access the application form.
  5. Fill out the application form with your JAMB Registration number, ensuring all details are accurate.
  6. Confirm and submit your application.
  7. Print the acknowledgment slip for future reference.

Screening Process

The screening will primarily utilize verified JAMB scores and the O’Level results uploaded on JAMB CAPS. All candidates must ensure that their details on the FUTO portal match those on JAMB CAPS.
