Gombe State University Management Pays Condolence Visit to the Emir of Gombe and Family of Late Dan Makayon Gombe

The Management of Gombe State University has paid a condolence visit to the Chancellor of the University and Emir of Gombe, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, CFR, at the residence of the family of the late Dan Makayon Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Manga Usman.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, led the University delegation on behalf of the Senate, Management, staff, and the entire University community to sympathize with the Emir, the royal family, and the immediate family of the deceased.

The University delegation was received by the Sarkin Malamai Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed Walama; the Madakin Gombe, Alhaji Umar Abubakar; the Ubandoman Gombe, Alhaji Zubairu Muazu; and the Wakilin Birnin Gombe, Alhaji Dalhatu Babayo.

In his remarks, the Acting Vice-Chancellor described the late Dan Makayon Gombe as “a respected elder statesman whose contributions to the growth and development of the Emirate will be fondly remembered.”

The Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Abdul-Rasheed Abdulganiy, on behalf of the delegation, prayed for the repose of his soul and for Allah to grant the Emir, the family, and the people of Gombe the fortitude to bear the loss.

Responding, the Emir and the bereaved family appreciated the University Management for identifying with them during their moment of grief.
