Gombe State University Partners with University Putra Malaysia

Gombe State University (GSU) has entered into an academic collaboration with University Putra Malaysia (UPM) following a visit by a GSU delegation to UPM’s Centre for Industrial Relations and Networks (CiRNeT).  

The GSU team, led by Professor Hajjagana Hamza, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, included other notable members such as Professor Fatima Umar Maigari, Associate Professor Mohammed Tukur, and Dr. Hamza Ahmed Pantami. The UPM delegation was headed by Professor Dr. Shamsul Bahri Hj. Md. Tamrin, Director of CiRNeT, and comprised other key representatives from the institution.

The partnership aims to enhance GSU’s academic and research capacities through initiatives such as short- and long-term research attachments, immediate access to UPM’s advanced facilities, and the establishment of a GSU-UPM collaboration centre following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Additional agreements include fellowships, hands-on research opportunities, and postdoctoral programmes for GSU staff and students.
