Gombe State University Hosts SIWES Directors and ITF Staff

Gombe State University (GSU) recently hosted the quarterly meeting of Directors and Coordinators of the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) alongside officials from the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), representing tertiary institutions across Gombe State.  

The delegation, led by GSU’s SIWES Director, Professor Hankouraou Seydou, paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta. They congratulated him on his appointment and lauded the university for its seamless hosting of the meeting.

In his remarks, Professor Yauta expressed appreciation for the visit and reiterated GSU's dedication to bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practical experience. He proposed the inclusion of education students, such as those in Computer Science Education and Physics Education, in SIWES, emphasizing the value of industrial training in enhancing their professional skills.

The Vice-Chancellor urged the ITF to consider this suggestion, aligning with practices in colleges of education. The meeting underscored GSU’s commitment to advancing practical education and fostering collaboration with key stakeholders.
