Gombe State University (GSU) is strengthening its global presence through strategic partnerships, as demonstrated by a recent visit from Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Gombe State University (GSU) is taking significant steps to elevate its global presence by strengthening strategic partnerships with national and international agencies. On Monday, November 12, 2024, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to explore opportunities for collaboration and to discuss key areas of support for the university’s growth.

In his address to Ambassador Dunoma Umar Ahmed, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Professor Yauta outlined his vision for expanding GSU’s reach through international engagements. He emphasized the university’s commitment to creating opportunities for its staff and students by fostering partnerships with embassies, global agencies, and international organizations.

“As one of Nigeria’s leading state universities, Gombe State University is focused on securing grants, facilitating academic exchanges, and advancing our development initiatives through global collaborations,” said Professor Yauta. He further praised the leadership of Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammed Inuwa Yahaya, who has been a strong advocate for development partnerships.

During the meeting, Professor Yauta outlined several areas where GSU seeks support from the Ministry, including:

The Acting Vice-Chancellor emphasized that a collaboration with the Ministry would enable GSU to achieve these goals and enhance its impact on both national and global fronts.

In his response, Ambassador Dunoma Umar Ahmed expressed his appreciation for GSU’s proactive approach, noting that it was the first university in Nigeria to visit him since his posting to the Ministry. He assured Professor Yauta of the Ministry’s full support, confirming that the Ministry would act as a bridge to connect GSU with relevant agencies and potential partners.
