Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State has donated 600 bags of rice and 20 live cows to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in the state. The State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Olayinka Abdulwahab, confirmed the delivery in an interview on Thursday.
During the swearing-in ceremony of the 2024 Batch B, Stream One orientation course on July 2, Governor Bago announced the donation and also pledged N200,000 for each corps member willing to serve in Niger State. Additionally, he promised to install five boreholes and provide new toilet facilities for both male and female hostels at the camp.

Mrs. Abdulwahab reported that the 600 bags of rice and 20 cows were received with enthusiasm by both corps members and camp officials. She mentioned that the process for disbursing the N200,000 bonus was underway, and the survey for the boreholes and toilet facilities had commenced.
The State Coordinator expressed that these donations would significantly alleviate challenges faced by participants during the orientation exercises.
