Muhammad Auwal, the Governor of Bayero University Kano (BUK) Campus, has officially resigned from his position, citing irreconcilable differences in leadership styles and vision. In a letter addressed to the President of the Students' Union Government on October 4, 2024, Auwal announced his immediate resignation.

Auwal expressed his appreciation for the opportunities and relationships he had built during his tenure but noted that the current leadership structure hindered his ability to advocate effectively for students' welfare. He also announced his disassociation from the current Students' Union Government administration.
