Governor Seyi Makinde to Chair 12th Zik Lecture Series in Anambra
The event, themed "Reclaiming Zik’s World: Climate Justice and Africa’s Sustainable Development," will take place at the ASUU-UNIZIK Secretariat Conference Hall. Former president of Malawi, Dr. Joyce Banda, will serve as the guest lecturer.
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State is set to chair the 12th edition of the Zik Lecture Series scheduled for today in Awka, Anambra State. The lecture series, instituted in honor of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Nigeria's first president, is organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences at Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
The event, themed "Reclaiming Zik’s World: Climate Justice and Africa’s Sustainable Development," will take place at the ASUU-UNIZIK Secretariat Conference Hall. Former president of Malawi, Dr. Joyce Banda, will serve as the guest lecturer.
Prominent guests expected at the event include Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State as the chief guest of honor, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State as a special guest of honor, and former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, as the distinguished guest of honor. Senator Ben Ndi Obi, the benefactor of the Zik lecture series, and Professor Uche Azikiwe, the wife of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, will also be in attendance.
The Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, and Eze Uzu Awka, Obi Gibson Nwosu, will serve as the Royal Fathers of the day, with Professor Nkemdili Au Nonyelu as the adviser to the Zik Lecture Series. The dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, UNIZIK, Professor Frank-Collins Okafor, will host the event, while the vice chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Charles Okechukwu Esimone, will be the chief host.
