The Vice-Chancellor of Gombe State University, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, on Monday, 11th May, 2026, attended the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria and the Sixth Edition of the National Tertiary Admission Performance-Merit Award (NATAP-M), organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
The high-level national event brought together key stakeholders in the education sector, including heads of tertiary institutions, government officials, regulatory agencies, and policymakers, to deliberate on admission policies, the 2025 admission exercise, and modalities for the 2026 admission process.

The meeting featured addresses and policy directives by the Honourable Minister of Education, alongside presentations by the Registrar of JAMB and goodwill messages from major education agencies, including the National Universities Commission (NUC), National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), and TETFund.
The Vice-Chancellor’s participation at the policy meeting reflects the commitment of Gombe State University to strengthening quality tertiary education, promoting merit-based admissions, and contributing actively to national educational development and policy formulation.
