In a pioneering move to address sustainability challenges in tertiary education, Igbinedion University Okada recently hosted its 6th Annual Retreat at the prestigious Kada Plaza in Benin City, Nigeria.

The event convened esteemed figures, including Council members, Provosts, Deans, and Directors, to deliberate on strategies for sustaining educational excellence amidst evolving paradigms.

Under the theme “Managing the Demands of Sustainability in Tertiary Institutions: The Private Sector Intervention,” the retreat delved deep into the environmental, economic, and social factors impacting the university landscape.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye, Ph.D, FAS, highlighted the university’s commitment to forming strategic partnerships with industries, fostering global education experiences, and integrating industry professionals into academic curricula.

Prof. Ezemonye emphasized the importance of industry involvement in delivering Master Classes and supervising postgraduate research, ensuring students are well-equipped for a dynamic world.
