The Imo State Police Command, in collaboration with the military, has initiated a major operation aimed at dismantling criminal networks involved in kidnapping, armed robbery, and other violent crimes. This strategic operation targets high-crime areas, including Obinze, Ihiagwa, Avu, and the Federal University of Technology (FUTO) in Owerri.
The operation reflects a strong commitment to enhancing community safety and security. It utilizes the combined resources and expertise of both police and military forces to address the rising concerns over recent kidnapping incidents and other criminal activities that have unsettled residents and students.
CP Aboki Danjuma, Commissioner of Police for Imo State, has called for public cooperation, urging residents to report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station or via the hotline 0803 477 3600. This collaborative effort aims to restore peace, ensure the safety of educational institutions, and uphold law and order throughout the state.
