Imo State University, Owerri (IMSU) has outlined the admission requirements for prospective students seeking admission into various undergraduate programs for the 2024/2025 academic session. Aspiring candidates are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these criteria to ensure a smooth application process.

To be eligible for admission into IMSU, candidates must meet the following requirements:
1. Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE) Requirements:
- Applicants must have a minimum of five credit passes in relevant subjects at the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE) or its equivalent.
- These credits must be obtained in not more than two sittings.
2. UTME Requirements:
- Candidates are required to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and attain the IMSU cut-off mark as stipulated by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
- The specific cut-off marks vary each year and for different courses offered at IMSU.
- It is crucial to select the correct JAMB subject combination for the intended course of study.

3. Post-UTME Screening:
- Applicants who meet the JAMB cut-off mark must participate in the IMSU Post-UTME screening exercise.

4. Age Requirement:
- Candidates must be at least 16 years old by the time of admission into IMSU.
5. Choice of Institution:
- IMSU must be chosen as the first choice institution during the UTME registration process.

6. Direct Entry Requirements:
- For candidates applying through Direct Entry (DE), they must possess at least two A-Level passes or equivalent in relevant subjects OR a National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Upper Credit in relevant courses.
- Direct Entry candidates must also meet the O'Level requirements stipulated for their chosen course.
