In a generous move, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that, starting from 2024, it will distribute the recommended English novel for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to all candidates for free. This commendable decision was revealed in the JAMB weekly Bulletin, Volume 3, No 58, accessible on the board’s website.

Explaining the rationale behind this decision, JAMB cited its commitment to minimizing the impact of the current economic situation on potential candidates. In the face of economic challenges, this move is intended to alleviate the financial burden on students preparing for the UTME.

The bulletin also mentioned the Board's awareness of the high operational costs for Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers, especially with the rising cost of diesel. In response, JAMB has approved minimal increments in CBT center charges.
