The late Engineer Joseph Makoju Memorial Foundation has commenced the construction of a 250-seating capacity Lecture Theatre at the Federal University Lokoja, Kogi State. The foundation, led by Mr. Enesi Makoju, marked the commencement with a groundbreaking ceremony at the university's Felele Main Campus, coinciding with the posthumous 76th birthday of Engineer Joseph Makoju.

Expressing gratitude, Mr. Enesi Makoju highlighted his father's commitment to education and national development, emphasizing that the project fulfills his parents' aspirations for enhancing educational opportunities in Nigeria, particularly in Kogi Central. The family, known for its philanthropy, praised the university's Vice Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, for facilitating the project's initiation.

Mrs. Gladdys A.E. Makoju, matriarch of the family, underscored the significance of the university's support in realizing their educational vision.
