The Management of Kaduna Polytechnic has issued a public disclaimer over a fraudulent announcement circulating on social media, warning prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to extortion.
According to the Polytechnic, the fake announcement was circulated by one Mr. Tosin Samuel Afolabi, who falsely claimed to be acting on behalf of the Institution. The individual reportedly invited graduates of the Polytechnic to re-submit their Higher National Diploma (HND) Statements of Result, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Admission Letters, and clearance slips under the guise of facilitating NYSC clearance.
Management disclosed that several prospective corps members were defrauded after being made to pay various sums of money for purported clearance slips that had no official backing from the Institution.

In a decisive response, the Polytechnic confirmed that the suspect has been apprehended and handed over to the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police for thorough investigation and prosecution in accordance with the law.
Kaduna Polytechnic has categorically dissociated itself from the fraudulent act, emphasizing that the announcement did not originate from the Institution and does not reflect its official procedures or directives.
The Management strongly advised all prospective NYSC candidates and members of the public to disregard the fraudulent notice and to seek information strictly through Kaduna Polytechnic’s verified and official communication channels.
The Institution reaffirmed its commitment to protecting its students and graduates from fraud and urged the public to report any suspicious activity bearing the name of Kaduna Polytechnic to the appropriate authorities.
