Kaduna State University (KASU) Library joined the global community in celebrating the International Day for Universal Access to Information (IDUAI) on 28th September. The event, recognized by the United Nations since 2019, highlights the critical importance of access to information in fostering informed decision-making, innovation, and social progress.
KASU Library marked the occasion with a radio discussion on KASU FM, focusing on the significance of information access, transparency, accountability, and ethical considerations such as data privacy. The discussion featured Dr. Esther Gani, Head of the Community Services Department, who underscored the university's commitment to advocating for open access policies and collaboration with public organizations to enhance public participation.
Other speakers included Madam Halima Usman and Salma Shehu, both from the university library, who provided insights into overcoming barriers to information access.
