KASSOSA BUK Chapter Launches Essay Competition on Women’s Role in STEM for Sustainable Development
The Kano Science Schools Old Students' Association (KASSOSA), through its Bayero University, Kano (BUK) Chapter, has announced the commencement of an essay writing competition aimed at highlighting the critical contributions of women to the scientific and technological sectors.
The competition is centered on the theme: "The Role of Women in Science and Technology for Sustainable Development."
The initiative seeks to engage members of the association in a thought-provoking discourse while promoting literary and research skills. The competition offers substantial monetary prizes: the first-place winner will receive ₦20,000, the first runner-up ₦15,000, and the second runner-up ₦10,000.
Rules and Eligibility
Participation is strictly limited to registered members of the KASSOSA BUK Chapter. To maintain academic integrity, the association has implemented stringent rules:
Submissions must be an original work containing between 700 and 1,000 words.
Zero tolerance for plagiarism: Any AI-generated content or form of plagiarism will lead to immediate disqualification.
Only one submission is allowed per participant, and entries must be in English.

Entries must adhere to specific formatting requirements:
Font: Times New Roman, Size 12 PT
Spacing: 1.5 Line Spacing
Paper Size: A4
All submissions must be made via an online Google Form link (forms.gle), accessible via a provided QR code on the flyer.
