The Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, has approved a budget of over N967 million for the payment of registration fees for indigenous students studying in tertiary institutions across Nigeria. This decision, announced by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Isah Abdullahi-Tunga, underscores the governor's commitment to nurturing the youth for future leadership roles.

During a press conference in Birnin Kebbi, Abdullahi-Tunga disclosed that 20,908 students from Kebbi State enrolled in 36 tertiary institutions nationwide would benefit from this sponsorship. He emphasized the governor's vision to revolutionize higher education in the state and ensure youth participation in the current political landscape.
