Kebbi State Government Pledges Urgent Support to Federal University Birnin Kebbi
The Deputy Governor assured that Governor Nasir Idris is actively addressing the university's requests, including the issuance of a certificate of occupancy for the institution's permanent site and the provision of buses for student transportation
The Kebbi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to providing urgent support to the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), particularly in the areas of land certification and other essential needs aimed at fostering sustainable development.
This assurance was given by the State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, during a courtesy visit by the FUBK Governing Council in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.
The Deputy Governor assured that Governor Nasir Idris is actively addressing the university's requests, including the issuance of a certificate of occupancy for the institution's permanent site and the provision of buses for student transportation. Senator Tafida emphasized the state's dedication to the educational sector, recognizing education as the cornerstone of societal development.
In his remarks, FUBK's Pro-Chancellor, Ali Abubakar Jatau, appealed to the state government to expedite the issuance of the certificate of occupancy and the provision of transportation for students. He also expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from the state, highlighting FUBK as one of the federal universities that have greatly benefited from the host state's assistance.
The courtesy visit was attended by key government officials, including the Head of Service, Alhaji Sufiyanu Garba Bena, as well as commissioners, special advisers, and other government functionaries.
