KHAIRUN Management Congratulates the new BUK VC and Reaffirms their Strong Partnership

The Management of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, on Wednesday, 20th August 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the new Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Professor Haruna Musa.

In his remarks, Professor Garba explained that the purpose of the visit was to congratulate the new Vice-Chancellor, show solidarity, extend goodwill, and offer prayers for a successful tenure. He further informed Prof. Musa that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has confirmed KHAIRUN’s operational license, a milestone which, according to him, could not have been achieved without the unwavering support and mentorship of BUK.

He also acknowledged the vital role BUK continues to play in the growth of KHAIRUN, stressing that while the university is now duly licensed, it does not place itself on the same level as BUK. “We will continue to knock on BUK’s door for mentorship and guidance. No matter the recognition we have received, we cannot operate effectively without your support,” Prof. Garba affirmed.

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor of BUK, Professor Haruna Musa, described the visit as a great honor. He also recalled his long standing relationship with Prof. Garba, whom he regards as a mentor, and warmly welcomed the KHAIRUN team. On behalf of the management of BUK, he congratulated KHAIRUN on the confirmation of its operational license by the NUC.

Prof. Musa further assured Prof. Garba that BUK will continue to provide mentorship and collaboration to KHAIRUN. He added that KHAIRUN enjoys the special recognition among private universities because its focus is not on profit making but on building capacity and creating opportunities for young men and women.

The visit concluded with a vote of thanks from the Registrar of KHAIRUN, Malam Yusuf Datti, who expressed gratitude for the warm reception and constant support of BUK. He remarked that KHAIRUN always feels at home whenever it visits BUK. He ended by wishing Prof. Musa a successful tenure.
