KHAIRUN Management Pays Courtesy Visit to NUC

The management of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), led by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, Professor Kabiru Isyaku, on Friday, 8th August 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the National Universities Commission (NUC) headquarters in Abuja.

In his opening remarks, Professor Isyaku expressed heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception and the continued support from the commission. He also appreciated the NUC for its role in fostering quality higher education in Nigeria.

Also, The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, gave a brief history of the university, highlighting its academic programmes and the legacy of its founder, the late Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu, whose remarkable contributions to Qur’anic recitation and memorisation, philanthropy, and formal education have left a lasting impact on society. He further commended the Executive Secretary and the NUC for their unwavering support to KHAIRUN and other Nigerian tertiary institutions.

In his response, the Executive Secretary of the NUC, Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, warmly welcomed the delegation and confirmed the approval of the review of KHAIRUN’s operational licence, which is expected to be signed and forwarded to the university by Monday. He assured the management of the commission’s readiness to assist in addressing any challenges the university might encounter.

The visit concluded with the Executive Secretary wishing KHAIRUN continued success in its endeavours and a safe journey back to Kano.
