Kogi State Police Uncover Disturbing Murder of FULOKOJA Student, Damilola Olowoyo
Kogi State Police have arrested four suspects in connection with the murder of Damilola Olowoyo, a 19-year-old student, revealing a ritualistic killing involving drugging, strangulation, and dismemberment.
Kogi State Police have made significant strides in their investigation into the murder of Damilola Olowoyo, a 19-year-old student from the Federal University Lokoja. The case has highlighted a disturbing trend of ritualistic violence among youths.
Damilola's disappearance was reported by her family, who initially paid a ransom of N400,000 after receiving demands from an unknown party. The investigation, which involved advanced tracking and technical expertise, led to the discovery of Damilola's tragic fate.
The primary suspect, Jeremiah Paul, 20, is alleged to have lured Damilola to a remote location under false pretenses. There, he is said to have drugged her with a beverage laced with codeine before strangling her. The body was then dismembered, with various organs being removed for ritualistic purposes.
The case has raised serious concerns about the influence of social media on criminal activities, as Paul reportedly connected with a native doctor through TikTok to facilitate the ritual. The doctor allegedly provided instructions on which body parts were needed and even sent a driver to transport the remains.
The Kogi State Police Command has urged students and parents to remain vigilant, emphasizing that this crime underscores a deeper societal issue. The authorities are committed to pursuing justice and increasing efforts to combat such heinous acts within the state.
Investigations are ongoing, and the suspects are expected to face prosecution.
