KWAMSA-UDUS Sets to Hold Paper Presentation and Medical Outreach

The Kwara State Medical Students' Association, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (KWAMSA–UDUS), has invited Kwara State indigenes to its annual medical outreach and paper presentation on Saturday, 28th of September 2024.

The event, scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. at the ETF 3 Lecture Hall, will feature a medical outreach, including screenings for body mass index (BMI), blood grouping, blood pressure (BP), Hepatitis B (RDT), and blood glucose levels.

There will also be a paper presentation on the topic "Social Media and Mental Health" at 12:00 p.m. on the same day. 

 

In an interview with the news digest press, the president of the Kwara State Medical Students' Association, UDUS, Sulyman Abubakar Onigbari, a 500-level Medical Laboratory Science student, unveiled the rationale for organising the outreach.

" It's a comprehensive medical outreach structured to provide quality healthcare services and improve health education among indigenous Kwarans studying at UDUS,” He explained.

He further explained several benefits available for indigene who will attend the outreach, the opportunity to know their Blood pressure, Hepatitis status, Blood group, Malaria status, Body mass index, Blood glucose level and lots more. He also expressed his anticipation for a large turnout.
