Kwara State University (KWASU) is set to advance its Department of Fine and Applied Arts to new heights, leveraging its facilities and resources to foster growth and innovation. This commitment was underscored following an impressive exhibition held at the department on Monday, September 9, 2024.

Professor Moshood Jimba, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Administration, represented the Vice Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, at the event. Professor Jimba expressed the university's pride in the department's accomplishments and its determination to support its future development.

"We have the people, the department, and the resources. What we need now is to elevate everything to the next level," said Professor Jimba. "We must better utilize our resources to propel the institution to greater heights."

Highlighting the importance of collaboration, Professor Jimba emphasized the need for synergy among all stakeholders to achieve the university's goals. "We need to work together, support each other, and empower ourselves to make things work," he added.

In addition to academic and artistic advancements, Professor Jimba stressed the significance of entrepreneurship and the mass production of artwork to generate revenue for the university.

Professor Binta Sulyman, Head of the Department of Fine and Applied Arts, affirmed the department's readiness to leverage existing resources for further growth. She also noted that the upcoming move to the department's permanent site in Osi would provide ample facilities and space for expansion.

The exhibition featured a diverse array of creative works by students and staff, showcasing the department's vibrant talent and potential. 

KWASU's proactive approach signals a promising future for its Fine and Applied Arts Department, setting the stage for enhanced academic and creative achievements.
