KWASU Student Union Elects First Female Senate President
Mariam Kofoworola Ona-Olapo has emerged as the 11th Senate President of the 10th Assembly of the Kwara State University (KWASU) Student Union, becoming the first female to occupy the position in the Union's history.
Mariam Kofoworola Ona-Olapo has emerged as the 11th Senate President of the 10th Assembly of the Kwara State University (KWASU) Student Union, becoming the first female to occupy the position in the Union's history.

She was elected during the Student Union Council's inaugural sitting, where principal officers of the 10th Assembly were elected.
The inaugural session was presided over by Ahmad Ayomide Afolabi, who previously served as the 9th Senate President of the 8th Senate Council and the 10th Senate President of the 9th Senate Council.
Other elected principal officers of the 10th Senate Council are:
- Deputy Senate President: Muhammed Thanni Ismail
- Clerk of the Senate: Abdul Fatai Abdul Rahman
- Deputy Clerk: Adelele Obedat
- Chief Whip: Abdul Kadir Ahmad
- Deputy Chief Whip: Robiat Tijani

In a related development, Boluwatife Omotola Onisola of the Department of Common Law, Faculty of Law, has emerged as the new Chief Justice of the KWASU Student Union.
