Lady Patricia Nwobodo and Governor Nwifuru to Receive Honorary Doctorate Degrees in CCU Maiden Convocation Ceremony

In a historic milestone, Coal City University (CCU) is set to confer honorary Doctorate Degrees (Honoris Causa) on esteemed individuals, including Lady Patricia Nwobodo, founder of Rowet Group Nigeria, and Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State. The convocation ceremony, the university's first edition, will also celebrate the graduating classes of 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
Lady Patricia Nwobodo, recognized as a luminary in the financial services sector, will be awarded the Doctor of Banking and Finance degree (Honoris Causa) in acknowledgment of her significant accomplishments in Financial Services, Technology, and Communications through Rowet Group Nigeria.

Governor Francis Nwifuru, distinguished for his exemplary conduct and extraordinary leadership of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, will receive the Doctor of Public Administration degree (Honoris Causa) for his broader contributions to transforming lives and improving society.
Speaking at a convocation press briefing, Vice Chancellor Prof. Afam Icha Ituma explained that the delay in the convocation was due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He expressed enthusiasm for the combined celebration, encompassing the graduating classes of four years.

The convocation will feature an Alumni Dinner Lecture by former Minister for Information, Mr. Frank Nweke Jr, focusing on the theme 'Imagine: Create Your Future.' Additionally, Chief Osita Chidoka, a distinguished leader and advocate for national development, will deliver a convocation lecture titled 'Deciphering the Moral Ambiguity of Local Aphorisms That Justify the Erosion of Moral Values of Young People.'

The ceremony will honor 502 candidates, with distinctions including 33 First Class, 209 Second Class Upper Division, 234 Second Class Lower Division, and 26 Third Class. Prof. Afam Icha Ituma congratulated the graduating students and their parents, emphasizing the significance of the convocation in shaping the future of the nation.
